Employment Authorization Document
A Kind I-766 work authorization file (EAD; [1] or EAD card, understood popularly as a work permit, is a document provided by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that supplies momentary employment permission to noncitizens in the United States.

Obtaining an EAD

Background: migration control and work regulations
